During the first few weeks of 2020, the Association has been hard at work pruning much of the orchard. A large proportion of the apple trees have not been pruned for a number of years, so there’s a considerable amount of unchecked growth as well as a fair amount of dead wood on many trees.
We’re now working to clear the debris. It’s the same story across all the apple fields and we hope that the pruning will prove successful in stimulating growth and good fruiting in the 2020 season.
