Getting involved
Join in protecting this wonderful piece of English countryside
The Standen Fruit Farm Community Association is a UK charity that works to maintain this historic Kentish orchard. It’s run entirely by volunteers who give up their time to ensure that the 50+ acres provide a haven for wildlife and that the extensive number of apple and cherry trees are looked after for the benefit of all.
We welcome new members to the Association who share the ideals of the founders who had the vision to protect this important site in the 1980s.
Spring at the Orchard
Spring has sprung at Standen Fruit Farm Orchard, with the 55 acre site bursting into life.
One of our members has spotted the first early purple orchid to appear (pictured), and there are bluebells starting to emerge, too (below).
There's also been lots of late winter work undertaken by Orchard Manager Guy Pullen. Watch his latest update below to find out about some of the tasks that he's been doing, and how we are ensuring continuing sustainability.
Apple Day 2026 - save the date!
Here's a date for your diary - Apple Day 2026 will take place on Sunday 27 September, from 1300 to 1600. Join us at the historic Standen Street Orchard for food, music, drink, and local produce, plus much, much more. It's a great fun day out for all the family and the opportunity to find out how we look after the heritage Orchard.
Volunteer! There are so many ways to lend a helping hand
We always need volunteers for winter pruning of trees through to apple picking in the autumn.
We welcome new volunteers to the small family that ensures Standen Street Fruit Farm is maintained for today and for future generations.
